Tilden and Meadow Grove are located within 5 miles of each other, just off West Highway 275, 15 miles west of Norfolk. Tilden, with a population of about a 1,000, was voted the “Best Place to Raise Kids in Nebraska” by Bloomberg in 2011.The town has several recreational sites including the Duck Pond, Horseshoe Bend Park, Sunrise Park Campground, the city playground, Richie Ashburn Field, and community swimming pool. The Cowboy Trail runs along Highway 275 through Tilden. The annual Tilden Prairie Days event is held the last weekend of July. Prairie Days offers a wide variety of activities for everyone including, the famous drag your nag competition, large antique dealers, barbeque, street dance, and car show. Public fishing opportunities are plentiful in the Tilden and Meadow Grove area, the closest being the Elkhorn River, which provides some great opportunities for pursuing channel catfish.
The village of
Meadow Grove is also conveniently located close to the bigger cities
yet enjoys a slower pace of life being far enough away. With just
over 200 residents, it's just the right size for small town life.
